Add Text Manually
Paste any text directly into the Knowledge Base — great for FAQs, policies, and internal knowledge.
Have knowledge that isn’t on your website or in a file — common questions your team answers by email, internal policies, or product specifics? Paste it directly into the Knowledge Base as a text document.
How to Add Text
- 1Open Knowledge Base in your dashboard.
- 2In the Text section, give your document a title.
- 3Paste the content and click Add — the text is saved and becomes part of your training set.
- 4Click Retrain Agent to index it.
What to Paste
- FAQ — the 10–20 questions your team answers most often.
- Policies — shipping, returns, warranty, cancellation.
- Product details — specs, variants, compatibility, use cases.
- Objection handling — notes on how your team responds to price or timing objections.
Write like a conversationThe agent answers visitors conversationally. Phrase your text as clear, self-contained statements — a visitor should understand the answer without reading the whole document.
Character Limits
Text documents count toward your total Knowledge Base limit (250,000 characters on Standard). The dashboard shows your current usage, and you’ll be warned before you exceed it. When the limit is reached, you cannot add new sources until you remove old ones or upgrade.
